Francisco Flores began his study of food in his 10th grade year at High Point High School in Foods and Nutrition Class. This course opened the door to his interest in Culinary Arts. He went on to enroll in both ProStart 1 his junior year and is completing ProStart 2 now. Francisco has competed for the past two years in MPSI and this year served on both the culinary and management teams. Francisco also works at Riderwood Village. Mrs. Barbara Hughes, his ProStart Instructor states, Francisco is “kind, friendly, caring, out-going, hard-working, self-motivated, confident, responsible, and just an all around great student.”

His employer states, “Francisco Flores is a hard working employee who has been with Riderwood since May 2006. He shows tremendous work ethic and is a valued asset to our dining team.  Originally hired as a server, Francisco was promoted to the position of a Host in January 2007.  After excelling in that position he received yet another promotion in April 2008. Since that time he has served as a Captain which is one of the highest levels a student employee can attain.” Francisco plans to go to college in the fall and major in Food Law and Regulations and minor in Culinary Arts.
